Hi!👋🏼 My name’s Abi! I’m 20 years old, I live in South East London and I’m currently studying psychology at the University of Lincoln✨
For the last 14 years, I’ve been living with CFS/ME which is believed to be a result of experiencing rheumatic fever as a child. I won’t lie, I had a tough time growing up learning how to both account for my CFS/ME and the energy I had to work with but also live my life and accomplish everything I wanted to achieve.
I’ve also had some pretty bad experiences with several different doctors and practices over the years which, not to make myself seem like a victim, really knocked my confidence in myself to manage my symptoms. A lot of the issues were due down to a lack of funding in CFS/ME services and training for doctors near where I live. However in September, I am starting a 10 week therapy program under a CFS/ME service near my university which I am BEYOND EXCITED for!🎉Only took me 14 years but we got there lads😂 I’ve never really been in contact with anyone else living with a chronic or invisible illness before and it would be sooo nice to become a part of the community and get to know some of you🥰
