So you're at the doctors....again?
Sitting in the waiting room, wondering if its a waste of everyone's time, including yours. You practically live here now right?
Anxiety takes hold and you feel like you just want to be anywhere but here. Anxiety is powerful.
But let's break down the anxiety, what are you fearful of?
Lack of preparation = Lack of results. You will need to be armed when you go into the doctors. This is hard.
I used to go into the doctors wearing trackies (to try to "look more ill") with no research and no idea of what I wanted to get out of the 10 minute appointment other than wanting the illness to stop and I always came out disappointed. There were so many times that I had booked an appointment on a bad day and then when it came round to the day of the appointment I would be having a good day - I would feel so guilty! Then, when I had found a doctor that thoroughly tested and took time to understand (an absolute unicorn) I felt more comfortable having a ten minute appointment in the middle of the day and then getting on with my day.
So, arm yourself. Think of a doctors' appointment like a trip to the shops:
Hopefully this helps. Don't forget, we are all different and what works for me may not work for you...worth a shot though!
