The location of the 1970's Hovis advert! A short stop off for lunch and a postcard picture. One of the most photographed streets in Great Britain - and used in countless calendars of England.
Gold hill is famous for being the location for the 1970's Hovis bread advert.
This was a stop off on our way to Sherborne Castle and Gardens.
We stopped for lunch at The Grovsvenor Arms. A beautiful Georgian style building, with roots that date back to medieval times where it was known as The Red Lion!
I had the most posh bacon sarnie that I have ever eaten (Smoked bacon & Brie soft cheese Ciabatta) It was delicious. Adam had a Pizza, wood fired and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and it was a relaxed vibe, families and couples made memories alongside us.
Dont forget to visit the museum at the top of gold hill. a quaint collection of history! I would definitely reccomend checking this little town out if you pass nearby.
