Hey I’m Elin!! I’ve just graduated from University and am going back to do a Masters in Jewish history!✨ after years of pain, fatigue, tests, different diagnoses, and doctors disagreeing with each other, I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year! Having grown up with family members and friends with the same illness I knew what to expect luckily, and knew it wouldn’t be easy! I’m still in between medications and treatments, trying to find what the best thing for me is, which is super difficult in itself with side effects that made doing my final year of uni very hard and had a negative impact on my mental health, being in recovery from bulimia! BUT I am incredibly lucky to have a very understanding family, super supportive friends and a partner who helps me on my bad days! I refuse to let this illness hold me back, and have found work in a nursery on campus in university the most fun and rewarding thing, even despite being exhausted and in lots of pain at the end of the day!
Fibromyalgia is hard to live with, but I’m super hopeful that I’ll eventually find the right treatment for me, I’ve already found that gentle exercise and meditation is AMAZING for me and my busy lifestyle!
Everyone is so much more than the illness they’ve been diagnosed with, and I admire every single person who has a little extra struggle in life 💕✨
